Alexander Romanovsky in Russian is a naturalized Ukrainian pianist from The French, Aug.
In 2001 he won the international piano competition Ferruccio Busoni of Bolzano.
From an early age he devoted himself to the study of the piano demonstrating a strong talent: at the age of nine he played for the first time with an orchestra and at eleven he gave his first recital with the orchestra “The Virtuosos of Moscow” under the direction of Vladimir Spivakov, who from Ukraine touches Russia, the Baltics, France and Germany.
In 1997 his life took a turn: two years earlier the teacher Leonid Margarius had left Ukraine to become a lecturer at the International Piano Academy “Meetings with the Master” in Imola, In Bologna, and now he called from Italy to continue his studies with him. For the young Romanovsky family it is a leap into the dark: even without a certainty for the artistic future of little Sasha, his mother and five-year-old sister move with him to Casalfiumanese, while his father can only join them after a few years. These are years of sacrifice and the mother will initially have to alternate the work of translator from Russian with others less qualified in order to keep the family in Italy.
After two years of study in Italy, in 1999 Alexander Romanovsky became An Academic of the Philharmonic Academy of Bologna: in the past, only Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Gioacchino Rossini achieved this title at the age of fifteen.
However, at the age of seventeen in 2001 he achieved international attention by winning the international piano competition Ferruccio Busoni of Bolzano. From that moment on, he began his numerous concerts in Europe, Japan (International Piano Concert 2000), Hong Kong and the United States. In 2007 he was invited to Castel Gandolfo to perform music by Pope Benedict XVI for the Pope Pope Benedict XVI accompanied by the orchestra, to mark the 110th anniversary of Pope Paul VI.
In 2009 he received his Artist Diploma from the Royal College of Music in London.
In 2011 Alexander Romanovsky became an Italian citizen and on November 15, 2011 he participated in the meeting dedicated to the “New Italian Citizens” in the presence of the President of the Italian Republic Giorgio Napolitano, in which he gave a short concert.
